Happy happy birthday!

Today, I would like to take the time to say...

to my husband/best friend/housemate/puppy co-parent/travel buddy/dance-partner/always-cooperative-photo-subject/person-who-beats-me-at-video-games-all-the-time, Bill!

Today is is truly a day to celebrate, because it is all about YOU!

Today is also a day to....
  • party and be excited that you were born!
  • open a blu-ray player! and a graphic novel! and some movies!
  • be just a little sad I didn't think of this first.
  • eat some more of that delicious oreo cake your mom made!
  • go out to dinner!
  • play with our puppies and be a family!
  • celebrate being together because I haven't seen you in almost 48 hours!
  • blow out some candles!
  • ignore how old you're getting!
  • get out of any chore you don't want to do because you're the birthday boy!
  • maybe stay up late and watch Castle from last night! (but only maybe... we are old now, you know).
  • be happy you weren't home this afternoon when Preston peed all over the sunroom!
  • open the funny card I made you!
And, in order to help me celebrate this day (perhaps this blog is a little self-serving...) here are some pictures of the super-cute/smokin-hot birthday boy!

San Diego Bill.
Wedding Day Bill. (My favorite!)
Candid at Ginger and Barry's House Bill.

Standing in our Backyard While I Have a Photoshoot with the Doggies Bill.

Beach Bum Bill.
So happy birthday, Billiam... love you SO much!

My famous puppy

Preston's the "Grown-Up Puppy" of the day on DailyPuppy.com.... That means that thousands of people are getting his cute little picture in an e-mail today, and some of them are even commenting how cute he is... YOU CAN EVEN LIKE HIM ON FACEBOOK. That's when you know you've hit the big time.

Here, check him out for yourself!

You can go to the http://www.dailypuppy.com homepage today, and he's right there in the top right corner! Or, if you're looking at this February 20 or later, just click on the grown-up puppy in the top right, and you can click back to 2/19. Enjoy!

New Addition (with an update)

A new addition to the blog!

You may have noticed the new widget over on the side... I figured since Bill cruelly won't let me adopt every cute puppy I see (seriously: two is not enough!), I could start getting my fix at DailyPuppy. And now you can too!

Update: I've been informed that the title of this blog post appears as though I have a new addition in my life, not just the blog. Meaning, I may have given a few of you some heart attacks, thinking I was pregnant. And let's face it, there is something in the water in NC! Every time I turn around, someone I know is preparing to pop out a baby in the next 9 months... But have no fear (and I may only be addressing myself here, since someone *cough Michelle cough Mom and Dad cough* seem to want some grandkids and bff's babies ASAP ) there is definitely not a baby in mine and Bill's near future.

If that's what you're hoping for... check back in a few years.

Go to hell, Duke!

Forgive me for the harshness of the title.

But you see, tomorrow is the day. The Big Game. Carolina vs Duke. 9:00 P.M. At Duke.

Wish us luck.

Go Heels!

a cute little bumper sticker I found on Google images. It seemed appropriate.

The pros of being sick

I'm sick. Really sick. And I hate it. I never get this sick! Sure I'll have a cold now and then, or a bad headache. But I go to bed, and it's over the next day. I've been sick for a few days now and it's been bad. I went to an urgent care facility yesterday and they ruled out strep and mono, so it appears that I actually just have a bad virus. And you know what you can do for those?

You treat the symptoms and wait it out. So, my blood is full of Advil, vitamins, Chloroseptic and Robitussin, I've got OJ and Luden's coughdrops by my side at all times, and I am desperately hoping to feel better soon.

In the meantime, though, Bill is taking very good care of me. I've never been sick like this when we've been living together, so this is the first time he's really having to do this. (In the past, my parents always did... that's what moms and dads are for, right?) And faithful readers, I am proud to say, he is doing a great job. I've called him names once or twice for not letting me do anything, but that's just because I don't like to sit around and do nothing for a whole weekend. Maybe for an afternoon, but I haven't really done anything useful in days! A little bit of homework, but that's it. Now that he has forced me to sit back and relax, though, I am realizing the perks of being sick...

1. I get to watch Law and Order: SVU. All. Day. Long. Thank you, Netflix instant watch!

2. Bill does everything - he made the meals yesterday, and he gets me more OJ without me asking, and he lays a blanket over me when I'm falling asleep, and he washes the dogs without making me help, and he unloaded the dishwasher (a miracle in itself) and he gets me more medicine when I need it, and he took me to urgent care, and today, he ran errands and brought me home a cookout milkshake! just what my sore throat needed.

3. I've almost finished book 3 of the Codex of Alera! I read a lot yesterday, in between my strenuous television watching and the exhausting 1.5 hour nap I took.

4. I have avoided homework for the most part. Legitimate right? Ruby told me yesterday not to do homework, because I need to be relaxing and healing. And hey, when an eleven-year-old tells me what to do, I do it.

5. I've been in my pajamas for almost 48 hours. Yes. I will say, though, I have been taking showers daily. I just happen to change back into pajamas when I'm done.

That was my quick update... it took a lot out of me, so obviously I'm headed back to the land of Stabler-and-Benson-love.

just a few updates

1. I called into my favorite morning radio show (Two Guys Named Chris on Rock 92.3) and they put me on the air! I'm basically a local celebrity now.

2. My practicum yesterday was just as great as last week. I've been lucky enough to work with a young child who might be the Wiggles' biggest fan. Yesterday, I learned "here come the chicken." Enjoy:

3. Jon Bon Jovi and Zac Efron in the same movie? Yes, please.

4. The dogs finally got some new toys! Here's their new "indestructible" dragon, about 15 minutes after we gave it to them...

5. I actually think that's it for right now... It's only Tuesday and I'm behind on my school work!
